Toyota Kirloskar Motor Announces Special Service Campaign for Innova in India

Bangalore, 09th April , 2014: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced a special service campaign in India. The campaign will cover a total of 44,989 units of the Innova manufactured between Feb 2005 to Dec 2008.

The campaign has been announced due to an error in the spiral cable mounted on the steering wheel. This will lead to continuous illumination of an airbag warning lamp on the instrument cluster giving prior indication of a problem to the customer. In addition, the driver’s airbag may get deactivated.

Toyota is currently working on obtaining the necessary replacement parts. Once the replacement parts are available, customers will be contacted by the authorized Toyota dealers. The vehicle will be repaired free of cost. The repairs are expected to be carried out in approximately 1 hour. The company is conducting this special service campaign keeping the “Customer First” philosophy in mind in order to avoid inconvenience to customers.

Bangalore, 19th March 2014: At the instance of the Labour Department, we appreciate the efforts taken by the Govt. of Karnataka for this reconciliation process.

Discussions have taken place today but no conclusion has yet been arrived at. Another round of meeting with the Deputy Labour Commissioner has been scheduled for tomorrow.

Bangalore, 16th March 2014: The Management and the Union have been discussing the charter of demands for the period FY13-14 for the past 10 months. As bipartite agreement was not reached, the Labor Department of the Government of Karnataka conducted 7 tripartite meetings in order to reach a settlement. The conciliation efforts of the Labor Department have not yet resulted in an agreement.

In the meantime, under the instigation of the union, certain sections of the employees have resorted to deliberate stoppages of the production line, abuse and threatening of supervisors thereby continuously disrupting business for the past 25 days. All these unlawful activities have been detailed in the lock-out notice.

With this background, the Company is left with no other option but to declare a lockout of the premises to ensure the safety of its workers and management personnel.



Toyota Announces Recall Campaign for Prius in India

New Delhi, 12th February, 2014: As a part of the global recall of PRIUS announced by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) also announced a recall campaign in India today. The recall will cover a total of 167 units of the PRIUS in India.

The recall has been announced due to a software error in the hybrid system that makes it enter a fail safe mode.

The company is conducting this recall as a part of Voluntary Recall Code. No complaints have been received in India so far.

The campaign will begin on 14th February, 2014. Toyota will contact the customers and repair will be carried out free of cost. The repairs are expected to take 1 to 1.5 hours.

Beware of fraudulent recruitment emails / communication

Our attention has been drawn by certain members of the public that they have received communication through emails for job interviews / offers in our company. They have been using trademarks of TKM and misguiding the candidates to deposit certain amount of money in specified accounts for securing employment or as deposit towards travel for final interview round, etc. These communications are purely made with an intention defraud the public. Job seekers are informed that TKM does not ask or collect any money or payment of any kind from candidates for considering them for interview or employment. TKM has already initiated criminal action against some of these persons.

We therefore caution the general public against relying on or acting on such fraudulent emails / communications. Do not reply to these messages or enter into any correspondence with the sender.
