Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has contributed an Innova to Ananda Hospital to be used as a mobile clinic. Mr. Atsushi Toyoshima, Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor formally handed over the keys of the Innova to Mr. Naresh Sharma, Chief Trustee, Ananda Hospital, a unit of Ananda Mission Charitable Trust.

Mr. Atsushi Toyoshima said, "TKM is happy to take a step forward and assist Ananda Hospital in its efforts to take medical assistance to remote areas. The Toyota Innova is best suited to act as a mobile clinic offering comfort along with the ability to handle the roughest roads with ease. We hope this small gesture will go a long way in contributing to the improved health of the local people".

Ananda Mission Charitable Trust built the Anand Hospital in 1998 in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh and over 20,000 people avail of medical facilities from this hospital. The Innova will be used as a vehicle to transport emergency patients, to provide on-site medical treatment or carry medical supplies to remote areas. This will further help Ananda Hospital in providing medical assistance to areas, which were hitherto inaccessible.

Mr. Naresh Sharma said, "We will now be able to reach many more villages in our vicinity and offer basic medical attention to local villagers. We are grateful that Toyota has come forward to support our mission of making medical aid more accessible."

TKM, along with its dealers and suppliers, has adopted the "Growing Together" philosophy of its parent company Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) to achieve long-term business growth on a sustainable basis. TKM has contributed to the development of the local community in areas such as environment, health and education.

Since its inception in India TKM has been actively involved in Local Community Development partnering with organizations, schools, universities and other businesses by promoting programs that support social causes. In the field of Education, TKM has been supporting educations institutes and promoting literacy. A residential school at Bidadi, reconstructed by Toyota, now houses 75 students, mainly belonging to backward communities. Partnering with local schools at Bidadi, TKM has contributed textbooks, bags, used computers, chairs and writing pads for school children.

As a good corporate citizen TKM has come forward during Natural Calamities and has contributed 2.5mn for rehabilitation of Tsunami victims, distributed food, clothing and relief in remote areas during Gujarat earthquake. TKM is also committed to raise awareness on environment related issues. Whether planting trees or organizing seminars on rainwater harvesting for local panchayats, TKM is working towards the creating the need for a cleaner, greener environment. As part of the Eco Spirit Campaign, environmental awareness is raised in school children through painting and quiz competitions.

TKM has also organized a health camp for the residents of a village that is in the vicinity of the company. Recently, TKM partnered with the Karnataka State Police to rebuild the Kengeri Police Station.
