Raipur, 29th August 2022: Toyota Kirloskar Motor [TKM] today announced the launch of T-TEP at Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Raipur, with this our T-TEP collaboration reaches 52 institutes. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the student’s skill sets with special focus on rural areas, thereby strengthening their employability through the company’s unique training initiative namely Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP).

The inauguration event was graced by Smt. Ujjwala Bhagel, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company, Mr. Harsh Gautam, Pro Chancellor, Dr. SK Singh, Vice Chancellor, Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Registrar, Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University in the presence of Mr. Mukesh Singhania, Dealer Principal, Kaizen Toyota, Raipur, Mr. Girish Saluja, Dealer Principal, JD Toyota, Bilaspur, senior executives from TKM, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President, TKM and Mr. Varinder Kumar Wadhwa, General Manager Associate, TKM.

Aimed at generating talented and technically skilled professionals for the automobile industry, T-TEP strongly contributes to India’s “Skill India” mission. With T-TEP, thus far, TKM is associated with 52 ITI/Polytechnic colleges covering 22 states. Currently, more than 10,000 students have been trained and 70% of the students are working in various automobile companies in the country.

On this occasion, Smt. Ujjwala Bhagel, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company said, “Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s initiative, in collaboration with Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Raipur will have a big impact towards developing highly skilled, employable, and future ready youths. These efforts are aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission. The government remains committed to support such good initiatives by collaborating with industry partners like Toyota, thereby boost their efforts in bridging the existing skills gap and develop world-class workforce.”

Expressing his views, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Globally, Toyota is known for its exceptional quality products and services, which stems from developing world-class people, processes, and necessary infrastructure. We are continuously growing and adapting to the changing needs and dynamics of auto industry.

Automotive industry is growing tremendously and since 2006 T-TEP has become a benchmark by adopting exceptional training modules, thereby benefitting the automotive service industry and society at large. Through the T-TEP initiative, we develop talented youths by equipping them with world-class training on advanced technologies. In this direction, our collaboration with Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Raipur will strengthen the talent pool from the grass root level and provide opportunities for youth with special focus on rural areas.”

As a part of this initiative, Toyota will support the institute with latest curriculum covering automobile fundamentals, safety, Toyota values and basic soft skills. The company along with its dealer partner have invested over Rs 1.5 million towards infrastructure, e-learning contents, engines, transmissions, practice kits and train the institute’s faculty through its unique Train-The-Trainer approach. In addition, TKM’s dealer partner – JD Toyota & Kaizen Toyota will also support by providing On-Job-Training to these students. Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University, Raipur will effectively adopt this program via T-TEP syllabus and enable the students to undergo the on-the-job training.
